Historical Significance:
The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution has its headquarters in Washington, D.C. in an amazing building that spans a city block. Portions of this historic building are open to the public, including a museum consisting of thirty-one period rooms. Since 1992 the Arizona State Society, DAR, has maintained a lounge for employees and members of the general public taking docent-led tours. In 2010 the state society refurbished the Arizona Lounge by commissioning a traditional Navajo rug by Louise Tolei, an Arizona resident and weaver, and replacing the furniture with Stickley furniture made in the United States.
